Paddles - 2008

Stand up on your surfboard or windsurfer and paddle?  An easy-to-handle, lightweight, efficient paddle enables you to put more energy into getting where you want to go without getting worn out. Though we recommend a  top-quality paddle for comfort and performance, you may want to get an inexpensive paddle for kids and rough play. We have both on this list from $89.00 to $329.00.

Kialoa Paddles

The Bend, Oregon based artisan paddle manufacturer  KIALOA  makes each paddle by hand. Four years ago some of the world's top surfers asked them to design a better stand-up surf paddle. They applied their extensive knowledge in paddle construction and design for both flat water and ocean conditions to tailor a paddle specifically for stand-up.  Use this paddle on the lakes or in the ocean surf and flat water. We are proud to offer these choices of stand-up surf paddles made by KIALOA for the discerning standup paddler.
To choose your size, add 8-10 inches to your height.  Check out the KIALOA surf paddle bag too!

SUP_Kialoa_Shaka.jpgShaka Pu'u - New for 2008!

Mel Pu'u embodies the spirit of the waterman.  A longtime lifeguard at Makaha, Mel is a force to be reckoned with, whether he's tandem surfing, outrigger surfing, or getting tubed with a stand-up surf paddle in hand.  He's also been known to give away surf boards and other contest prizes to competitors he felt were more deserving - it's all about having fun on the water for Mel. We're proud to name our new state-of-the-craft stand-up surf paddle after him. A portion of Shaka Pu'u sales are donated to the cause of choice for Mel and his wife Momi, the Makaha Junior Lifeguard Scholarship Program.

The Shaka Pu'u blade profile is our smallest paddle and allows for quick acceleration through the water without pulling the surfer off balance.  Ideal for catching waves and keeping yourself in the surf.
